Second Grade Student Gallery

Check out the work of the LV second graders!

Nicho

...not a nacho :)  Second graders learned about Nichos, a type of picture frame used in Mexico to house portraits of familiy members and important people.  Students began by designing and painting beautiful frames from paper and cardboard.

Next students studied artist Frida Kahlo.  A Mexican artist known for detailed and iaginataive portraits and self-portraits.  Studetns then painted a self-portraits or portrait of someone important to them.  We hope you enjoy them!

Ceramic Fish

Second graders learned about pinch pots, slipping and scoring, and forming balls, coils, and slabs in this ceramic project.  Each fish is so unique and teeming with character!  Awesome job second graders!

DaVinci Inventions

Inventor, artist, and scientist Leonardo Da Vinci was a person bursting with ideas...not unlike our second graders!  Students are drawing (pun intended) inspiration from DaVinci's sketches as they create machines that will improve their lives.  Next up...3D mini models of our robots!
